About Me
Transition Coaching is located in Denver, Colorado, however, I also work with clients all over the country.
I have a BA in Psychology from Metropolitan State College of Denver and a MA in Community Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Northern Colorado.
I received training for coaching from the Fearless Living Institute and Coachville.com. I also received training in intuitive and energy work from the Inner Connection Institute and Psychic Horizons.
I have been doing my own personal healing work for over 30 years. Through this work I have had personal experience in many modalities of healing work: individual psychotherapy, group work, energy work, workshops, seminars, and extensive reading and studying in a wide range of subjects including psychology, philosophy, coaching, and spirituality. These experiences have contributed to my ability to coach with skill, empathy, and non-judgment.
I have been coaching for over 20 years. I specialize in boundaries, communication, awareness, and shifting core belief systems. I love what I do. I feel honored to have the opportunity to support clients in creating change and healing in their lives.

The Difference between Coaching and Psychotherapy
Many ask what the difference is between coaching and psychotherapy. The debate on the answer to that question is long, varied, and ongoing. For me, I have some simple distinctions that I make for myself that influence my practice. (This is a personalized description. There are actually many types of psychotherapists and coaches, and there is a wide range of practices.)

I believe coaching is professionally assisted Self-change. It is all about the client. It is about helping them identify the blocks to achieving what they want and releasing those blocks. I assist a client in achieving a higher state of well-being.

Some of the initial questions we explore are:

I am a guide to keep you focused and on track. I facilitate seeing the bigger picture. I show you how to shift perspectives when you feel stuck. I keep in mind my own limitations and resource myself outside of my work so that I can be fully present for you. I believe in communicating in an honest, open, clear, and direct manner. I listen with an open-mind, without an agenda, and with great respect for the challenges you are currently facing and have faced in the past. My support comes from a deep sense of empathy and non-judgement because I have "been there and done that" and therefore I truly get how difficult it can be to look a yourself and to create real change.
I believe we all have "stuff", we are not broken, we just need clarity, insight, caring, and permission to release our attachments to old systems and to move to a place of awareness and non-judgement. To move from reaction to response. To move from how we "should" be or how things "should have been" to what is. To have freedom through real choice.
